Featuring an excellent 4 3/4" tall 19th century German Meissen Chinoiserie figurine of a woman, dressed in 2 piece tunic style costume, holding a bell in one hand and pointing at something with the other. The facial details, with Chinese influence(Watteau), and hair are very carefully painted as is her 2 piece costume with gilded and wine colored flowers. This is a wonderful porcelain Capo Di Monte demitasse cup and saucer dating to the 3rd quarter of the 19th century. The hand painted raised molded scene depicts the sun god in a 2 horse drawn chariot, a third horse, a tower, and some other mythological deities/figures(one with a snake). Very rare and beautiful, this Galle platter is just about the most beautiful piece of perfect French faience I have ever seen or had the opportunity to offer. The fact that it is Galle makes it even more desirable. It measures 16 1/2" long X almost 12" wide. The song birds on the branch and bouquets of various flowers are exquisitely portrayed.
