A very fine English small sterling bowl, a replica of a monteith bowl. Fully hallmarked with the leopard head (London),lion (England),letter d (1900) and makers mark, WC JL in shield. The underside of the foot is stamped Goldsmiths Company 112 Regent Street. This company sold many fine pieces of silver and jewelry to the Royal family and has its own history. Excellent Gorham small ladies flask/bottle with beautifully hand worked repousse flowers.Gorham hall mark and rooster which dates it to 1890. The cleverly made hinged top with original cork screws in a groove to open and close it so that it shuts tightly. The flask measures 5 1/8" long by 2 3/8" wide and weighs 2 1/2 ounces on a regular postage scale. the top is engraved with intials and has a slight dent on one side(see photo).
