Beautiful medium size Chinese rose Mandarin teapot with excellent art work and soft golds dating 1736-1795, the Qianlong period. The teapot measures 5 1/4" high, approximately 5" in diameter, and about 7 3/4" from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle. The colorful scenes are the same on both sides with geometric boarders and other art work in between the scenes. The teapot is in excellent condition with no damages, restorations, cracks or chips. This outstanding magnifying glass, combined with a 19th century beautifully carved Chinese elephant ivory handle, is a stunner and excellently assembled with a great lens for magnification. The overall length measures 12" long and the lens is 4 1/2" in diameter. Must see to believe. The handle probably came from a 19th century umbrella or cane handle and was converted into a magnifying glass in the 20th century.
