A fine antique Japanese metal/pewter/alloy mirror with raised plant designs. Rattan handle. Mirror fits in black and gold lacquer box decorated with flowers and scrolls. Featuring a rare, fine sterling silver heart shaped art deco design 3 footed dish signed K. Uyeda 950 sterling. This maker was a fine company in Japan in the early 20th century. Interesting deco design on handle. Measures 6" x 4.5". Weighs over approximately 3.5 ounces on regular scale. Wonderful condition. No wear, damages, scratches, dents or repairs. Featuring a charming early 19th century Japanese ivory netsuke depicting 3 clams clustered together with a crab peeking out from one. Very compact and feels nice when clasped in palm of hand. Excellent condition. Unsigned. No chips, damages or restorations. There are some lines that are found in older ivory and one inlaid eye in crab is missing the inlay. Featuring the smallest Meiji Japanese cloisonne enamel box I have ever come across with an unusual subject matter, grapes, leaves, and a small insect. The reverse with a 16 petaled chrysanthemum and leaf design found on imperial presentation pieces. Possible a presentation gift from the Meiji emperor. The interior is lined with silk.
