Featuring a fine elephant ivory Chinese carving of a Chinese beauty or goddess. Very peaceful expression on face. Finely carved details in facial features, hair(flowers and hair pin in hair), hands, flowing robe folds, sashes(with open work) etc. Measures 6.25" high without stand, x 1.5" wide x approx. 1" deep. A fine little Japanese gin bari oval shapped box, artistically rendered with wisteria, tendrils and leaves on cover, and carrying over to all sides of cover and base. Featuring a very lovely and unique little sterling bowl mounted with a beautiful jade ring boarder. Made in China for the fine Japanese store, Yamanaka. Stamped Made in China Yamanka. Not marked sterling but tested and guaranteed. Measures just under 3 1/4" in diameter and 1/2" high. Dates pre WWII, around 1920 but could be older. Very interesting, unusual little piece.
