A lovely Meiji Japanese cloisonne vase with chrysanthemums tied on bamboo pole with pink ribbon. A butterfly on reverse side. All on a lovely muted shade of blue gray. The beautiful white spider mums are touched with green. Dates circa 1890. This piece is done in the style of one of the greatest makers of Japanese cloisonne, Namikawa Sosuke. Wonderful presentation heron/crane kogo with mon engraved on side of bird. Japanese hallmarks and Japanese characters for sterling silver on underside. There may be a gold wash on the beak and the top of the head, and part of the top of the kogo has a mat finish. This piece is in excellent condition and probably dates to the first quarter of the 20th century but could be a little latter. It measures 2 3/4" long x 1 1/2" deep x 1 1/2" high.

An unusual and fine Japanese Golden Age naturalistic cloisonne napkin ring done in the style of Namikawa Sosuke. The artistically rendered cherry blossoms in shades of pink and white encircle the napkin ring on a gray background, a lovely color combination.
