Featuring a charming, intricately carved antique Japanese Meiji period ivory netsuke of family, a mother and two children, washing a horse who has his head down while he chomps on some hay. He is tied to a post, and his back legs are in a wooden tub. Dating c. 1900. Dimensions, 1 1/4" diameter, height 1 3/8". A small tea house with a window has been carved into the underside of the base. A good Japanese mixed metal (shibuichi) pipe, 19th century, inlaid with gold and silver alloys. A river scene with bamboo leaves , 3 ducks amongst bamboo on the bank of a stream. A moon is rising over the hills of the bank. Very fine detail. Signed on the reverse side. Very good condition. Surface may be intentional, or may need professional cleaning. Not sure. No damages. Featuring a fine Japanese pipe with silver mounts on either end and bamboo in the middle. The mouth piece appears to be copper or mixed metal and below that there is great work with a dragon in clouds and inlaid mixed metal eyes. The bamboo piece has painted designs in black to look like clouds. Not sure of the technique in painting this, maybe ink. The pipe piece also has a design tooled into it, probably relating to the dragon motif. There is a hallmark on both metal pieces(see photo of one). ...click for details

Featuring the smallest Meiji Japanese cloisonne enamel box I have ever come across with an unusual subject matter, grapes, leaves, and a small insect. The reverse with a 16 petaled chrysanthemum and leaf design found on imperial presentation pieces. Possible a presentation gift from the Meiji emperor. The interior is lined with silk. A lovely Meiji Japanese cloisonne vase with chrysanthemums tied on bamboo pole with pink ribbon. A butterfly on reverse side. All on a lovely muted shade of blue gray. Very unusual Japanese gin bari cloisonne manju netsuke with hydrangea motif, circa 1890. Also, could display as small kogo. The transparent enamels of the hydrangea on the cover are exceptionally beautiful, with subtle shadings from lavender to pink and pale blue. The underside depicts stems and leaves on a stamped foil background with embossed flowers. Near mint condition with 2 very slight oxidized lines on the underside and under the enamel surface.
