Very unusual and beautiful fine silk weaving of lake scene in China. The weaving looks like a painting, finding its origins in Beijing China. The silk work was all finely hand worked by splitting the silk threads up to 40 times each, layer upon layer for depth. Some water color was used in the trees, water shadows and mountains. There are Chinese characters woven in the sides. The scene is probably the lake of the summer palace near Beijing. The detail is just fabulous. Would be magnificent fra ...click for details
