Very unusual Japanese gin bari cloisonne manju netsuke with hydrangea motif, circa 1890. Also, could display as small kogo. The transparent enamels of the hydrangea on the cover are exceptionally beautiful, with subtle shadings from lavender to pink and pale blue. The underside depicts stems and leaves on a stamped foil background with embossed flowers. Near mint condition with 2 very slight oxidized lines on the underside and under the enamel surface.
