A good Japanese mixed metal (shibuichi) pipe, 19th century, inlaid with gold and silver alloys. A river scene with bamboo leaves , 3 ducks amongst bamboo on the bank of a stream. A moon is rising over the hills of the bank. Very fine detail. Signed on the reverse side. Very good condition. Surface may be intentional, or may need professional cleaning. Not sure. No damages. Japanese bronze holder/bowl/vase for simple flower arrangement known as Ichibana in Japan or could be used for a bonsai plant. The Ichibana arrangements are simple to display seasonal flowers and plant life in an artistic and exacting manner. Featuring a fine Japanese pipe with silver mounts on either end and bamboo in the middle. The mouth piece appears to be copper or mixed metal and below that there is great work with a dragon in clouds and inlaid mixed metal eyes. The bamboo piece has painted designs in black to look like clouds. Not sure of the technique in painting this, maybe ink. The pipe piece also has a design tooled into it, probably relating to the dragon motif. There is a hallmark on both metal pieces(see photo of one). ...click for details

Featuring an antique Japanese two piece hair pin(Kogai). The peonies are gold gilt metal work. The pin is made from tortoise shell. Dimensions: 6 3/4" long. Flowers are 1" in diameter. Wonderful presentation heron/crane kogo with mon engraved on side of bird. Japanese hallmarks and Japanese characters for sterling silver on underside. There may be a gold wash on the beak and the top of the head, and part of the top of the kogo has a mat finish. This piece is in excellent condition and probably dates to the first quarter of the 20th century but could be a little latter. It measures 2 3/4" long x 1 1/2" deep x 1 1/2" high.

A fine Japanese Meiji box probably made by sword makers in the late 19th century. The intricate work of copper,silver gold and other mixed metals is inlaid or worked into iron. Featuring a rare, fine sterling silver heart shaped art deco design 3 footed dish signed K. Uyeda 950 sterling. This maker was a fine company in Japan in the early 20th century. Interesting deco design on handle. Measures 6" x 4.5". Weighs over approximately 3.5 ounces on regular scale. Wonderful condition. No wear, damages, scratches, dents or repairs.
