Featuring an exquisite pair of antique 14k gold c.1820 Swiss enamel earrings with replacement modern 14k gold lever backs for pierced ears. Beautifully shaded roses in opaque enamels and yellow and blue guilloche enamel flowers, and leaves, in transparent enamels. There is a tiny enamel white flower and white enamel border. Just amazing workmanship in such a tiny area and very rare. This is also a form of cloisonne enamel known as champsleve, when the gold is dug out and then filled in with the enamel. Excellent condition with minimal wear only seen under very high magnification. The extra piece of gold on the back may have been added for reinforcement at a latter date.
