 sold, thank you!
Featuring a fine 18th century Japanese shishi netsuke with peony. Carved out of so called Umamitsu, which I was told is sea pine or black coral. Perhaps it is amber, as when held up to light, there is a sort of translucent amber color that comes through. Very fine work. Measures just under 1.5" long x 1" deep x 1" high. In excellent conditon, but there is a hole on the left side facing it near the ear, see photo 5. No other damages or restorations. The himatoshi is on the underside and the back side. Return privilege providing item returned in sent condition, within 3 days of receipt, and the way it was shipped/packaged. Sales tax charged is fold in New York state, unless valid NY state tax number provided with signed tax form.
