Featuring a fine Japanese ivory carving of farmer carrying a bunch of millet. Excellent detailing in face, hands, feet, hair and even the inro sagemono pouch on his hip with manju type netsuke and pipe showing in end of pouch. Signed with good signature. Date, circa 1890. Dimensions: a hair under 6.5". Depth at deepest point, 1.5", width at widest point, approximately 1 3/4". Condition: excellent, but there are age lines typically found in older ivory. No chips or breaks. Very nice patina. Weight, over 8 ounces.
