A beautiful Meiji Golden Age, circa 1890, Japanese cloisonne enamel 4 sided, 5" cabinet vase.Very fine sculptured silver wires outline the filmy, colorful white and lavender poppies with yellow stamens and beautiful leaves in various shades of green. A few, small, red mum flowers add a nice touch, plus, a bonus of a lovely bouquet on the reverse with buds, flower and grasses. The 4 sided shape, intricate neck and foot boarders and overall excellent workmanship are indicative of the Hayashi workshop and it is safe to attribute this vase to the Hayashi work shop. I recently saw a very similar piece to this signed Hayashi for $7000. The vase being offered here, attributed to Hayashi, is worthy of the finest collection and would make a great addition to a cloisonne collection. It is in near mint condition with no chips, repairs or damages. There are two very small, minor surface scratches about 1/2" long. They cannot be seen with the naked eye but only under high magnification and bright light. One light scratch can be seen in the photo above the white poppy at the top front. It is not visible unless under strong light and magnification. The other scratch is to viewer's right near the white poppy on the reverse but does not show up in the photo. One would not know they were there unless told and looking under very bright light and magnification. No other damages, dings, scratches, cracks or restorations. From fine local collection where only the best was had. Satisfaction guaranteed or money back. 3 day return privilege providing item returned in sent condition, the way it was packed, and shortly after it was received. Postage/insurance extra.
