Featuring a Japanese lacquer 2 drawer dresser/toilette set and mirror in matching lacquer case with fine gold decorated flowers and scrolls. The piece that holds the mirror on the dresser is removable. The lovely mirror design is composed of 2 herons and menogame(hairy tortoise which are a symbol of longevity) in garden scene. Mirror is signed. The metal of the mirror is probably a combination of mixed metals similar to pewter. The mirror side of the mirror has some corrosion/surface wear. There is an extra piece of lacquer to hold the mirror in the lacquer box. It slides out when removing the mirror from the box. Dresser measures approximately 10" square with 2 places of separation on back and smaller area on side of front due to age. Mirror measures 9 1/4" and lacquer holder, 10". Set dates to the first quarter of the 20th century. One minor dent on right side edge of lacquer case for mirror. 4 Japanese makeup brushes come with set. Overall, very good to excellent condition. Very decorative and interesting set. Please feel free to ask questions or for more photos. If you are just interested in the mirror and its case, I would consider breaking up the set. Return privilege providing set returned in sent condition shortly after having been received. Postage/insurance extra. New York buyer pays their local county sales tax on item and shipping charges unless valid tax number and NY resale form provided.
