Webb Cameo Glass Perfume Scent Bottle Theodore Starr

Featuring a rare and wonderful lemon yellow English Webb cameo art glass perfume bottle. The finely wheel carved white cameo blossoms, perhaps cherry or apple blossoms, leaves and branches are stunning on the yellow background. Hand hammered, the sterling top is engraved with an ornate monogram and the neck is stamped sterling, the number 88(probably a stock number), and Theodore B. Starr, a fine American New York city jewelry store that competed with Tiffany's in the late 19th century. Fine American jewelry stores often imported the Webb cameo glass bottles from England and then made the sterling tops in the USA. Theodore Starr was eventually bought out by the Gorham company. The Gorham hallmark is occasionally found on the sterling tops of Webb perfume bottles. It is rather unusual to find one with the Starr company name. The screw on top contains the original cork. All beautifully made and in excellent condition with no damages, chips, or restorations. Dates circa 1890. Meausres a little over 2 1/2" long and the width at base is a little over 1/2" in diameter. The top diameter is just under an inch. Feel free to ask for more photos. Return privilege, providing item returned in sent condition within 3 days of having received it, in the original packing material and the way it was packed. Sales tax charged if sold in New York state unless valid resale number and sales tax form provided.
