Featuring an authentic and fine Japanese carved netsuke or sagemono pipe holder for an inro or tobacco pouch. Carved from a naturally shaped piece of wood or root. Probably carved by a farmer or country man in the Mengi folk art style. Smooth from use and nice patina and grain coloration in wood. Dates to 3rd quarter of the 19th century. Measures 8" long.
