This is a very fine and beautiful small famille rose tea pot. The design is that of a beautiful water scene of a very lively, detailed and bright orange-red goldfish swimming among green seaweeds. There are three goldfish on the cover and five on each side of the tea pot. The base has the seal mark of Tongzhi and is of that period.

A very nice moulded Wanli period (A.D.1573-1619) blue and white kraak porcelain dish. It stands on a very short footrim with a recess base and then everted upward into a U-shaped moulded dish. In the centre of the dish, it depicts a pair of deer under a tree with flowering foilage and rocks. On the cavetto, it is painted with a two tiered brush stroke. The second shard, to the right, shows a lotus flower in full bloom. The lotus is considered a scared flower to the buddhist - a symbol of purity and perfection. This is a thinly potted bowl depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The bowl stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body.
