Ming Dynasty - Wanli Period Blue and White Kraak Dish
A very nice moulded Wanli period (A.D.1573-1619) blue and white kraak porcelain dish. It stands on a very short footrim with a recess base and then everted upward into a U-shaped moulded dish. In the centre of the dish, it depicts a pair of deer under a tree with flowering foilage and rocks. On the cavetto, it is painted with a two tiered brush stroke. Such almost identical dish is illustrated in Maura Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989.

Only a tiny flea rim glaze fritting as shown in photo no. 4 and a manufacturing fault shown in photo no. 5. Otherwise no restoration, repair, chip or hairline. There are minor abrasion, minute pin holes and sand grits to the base of the footrim and face of one of the deer to the right as shown in the photos. Considered as extremely fine condition for a 17th century plate.

The diameter of the dish is 20.2cm and the height is 3.4cm
