I love the jewels of designer Jean Schlumberger! Greta Garbo, Liz Taylor and Jackie Onassis are just a few of the woman in history who also adored his jewelry. Best known for his tenure at and designs for Tiffany & Co., these are the V-rope clip earring that we've carried in the past. This pair is especially lovely though as they contain 0.91 ct of diamonds. A truly classic and beautiful pair of earrings. Current retail at Tiffany & Co is $7150.

Inspired by the Renaissance artisans who created Florentine mosaics, for over 2 centuries the Asch Grossbardt families have been producing fine jewelry. Later, they introduced mosaic patterned jewelry that resembles the treasured pieces of mosaics or Pietre Dure, and this exceptional work is what they are now most noted for worldwide. These 14kt yellow gold earclips consist of black onyx and tiger's eye in an organic design. Extremely comfortable, versatile, and perfectly sized, they will go with almost any outfit, from jeans to that little black dress! Clip earrings that can easily be made into pierced. The Buccellati family first began working in the jewelry trade in Italy in the mid-eighteen century. In 1919 Mario Buccellati took over an existing firm and renamed it 'Buccellati' and their fame grew quickly. In the following years, he gained a loyal following at home at abroad and was dubbed "The Prince of Goldsmiths". Buccellati became the first Italian jeweler with a location on Fifth Avenue, New York City in 1951. Every bit of the surface of a Buccellati piece is worked and finished, often then resembling a fine piece of fabric. According to the firm, their target is a "contemporary woman with class, who likes to live with style and wear jewels on every occasion with self-assurance." In 2000, special Buccellati objects and jewels were gathered for an exhibition at the Smithsonian Museum to celebrate the firm's art and creativity.
This brooch is designed as a textured squirrel with a circular-cut ruby eye and fluffy tail, climbing up a realistically textured sterling branch. Absolutely the most amazing workmanship in the detail of this piece. Signed: Buccellati

American born David Webb became the 'go to' jeweler in NY in the 1950s and 1960s with his variations of flowers and other organic themes. The discerning jewelry clientele of NY and the world flocked to him and in the 1970s, noticing the change in the times, he began designing in the new style of geometric shapes of enamel, diamonds and gold. These chic and elegant earrings are reminiscent of those designs with their rich black enamel divided into quarters by the brightest and cleanest diamonds, accented by one central diamond. Clip on earrings, comfortable to wear; refined, luxurious and classic. These will never go out of style.

Seaman Schepps, sometimes called "America's court jeweler", rose to prominence in NY in the 1930s by changing the face of jewelry with his designs. "With a visionary sense of distinction, Schepps blended the unexpected-marrying diamonds, precious metals and man-made materials, choosing his media brilliantly to create a splendid palette of tone and hue. Through unparalleled experimentation, he pioneered a unique style of jewelry whose sense of splendor offered a new perspective to the world of fine jewelry and created one of the most popular trends in twentieth century jewelry. Schepps stood for style and originality more than wealth and appealed to an enormous range of clients."
These stunning earrings are quintessential Schepps; quilted cushion earrings in 18kt yellow gold wrapped sard (a variety of chalcedony) studded with brilliant citrines. Part of the "Cage Collection", although these are still produced in walnut, I don't believe the sard are still in production. Earrings frame the face and the size, color and accents on these work perfectly with any hair color and most but the dressiest outfits. My theory is to invest in the basics and these are some of the best.
