Matching the dainty earrings (ER1508) is this wonderful floral motif brooch of textured gold flowers with shiny gold stems. The central element of each flower contains a single diamond of approximately .05 points each for a total diamond weight of .15 carat. Lovely on its own or worn with the earrings, this would also work creatively as a clasp on a wrap dress at the waist or at the neckline.

A lovely pair of Victorian drop earrings consisting of a dainty textured flower motif with a .05 pt diamond as the central element in each earring. On the reverse is a small loop to lock the wire in place to insure it stays on the ear. Very typical of the era, practical, wearable and so light you won't even know they are on! Trianon has been creating jewels with unusual combinations of precious and exotic materials for over 30 years. Their jewelry has been worn by royalty and successful woman the world over and are cherished for their elegant wearability and flattering designs. Handcrafted in their New York workshop, these oval earrings are centered with a bezel set hematite intaglio which is surrounded by frosted crystal. Set within the crystal are two (2) approximately .2mm round cabochon cut rubies, two (2) .2mm round cabochon cut sapphires and two (2) .2mm round cabochon cut emeralds. The backs of the earrings are fitted with an omega style clip making them especially comfortable and with the added element of security.

A wonderful pastel green spinel ring set in a 14kt yellow gold mount. Perfect for the summer with its pale color and green tone, green being the 2013 Pantone color of the year. Faceted for just enough bling but softly hued to make this wearable everyday. The mounting is made in a random nest like pattern making me think of an egg sitting in a nest of gold. Held in place by six (6) prongs and a simple gold band.

NOTE: SYNTHETIC GEMSTONES:

Synthetic gemstones are often confused with simulants or imitations. Synthetics however, while also man-made, have been scientifically developed to duplicate a natural gem and will have the same physical and chemical properties. It takes a very experienced eye to tell them apart when they are well made. Gem quality synthetics make owning beautiful jewelry affordable as rubies, diamonds, sapphires and emeralds all have their synthetic counterparts and only your gemologist knows for sure. Often used as accent stones in jewels of the 1920s.

The most famous spinels are found in the British Crown Jewels in the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels of Iran in Teheran. Throughout history, spinel, most commonly thought of as red, has been confused with ruby partly because they are both found in the deposits. Spinel, more common than the many gemstones is a great substitute for it appears in a variety of colors.

The world of nature was very popular as a motif in Victorian jewelry. The Victorians loved the outdoors, were quite sentimental about their pets and so wanted to show their appreciation of the animal world while adorning themselves. Aigrettes (hair ornaments) were designed to hold bird feathers and toward the end of the 19th century, often whole birds! Birds were created as pins and artfully engraved onto lockets and even rings. In Northern Europe, the fork-tailed swallow was a symbol of Spring and Love; in China it symbolized future success and fidelity. Having given that bit of history, one must be aware that designs and trends from one era follow earlier ones and this is no exception as this alluring avian was born in the middle of the 20th century. No wallflower here, it swoops in proudly with its diamond studded head and 14kt gold body, just waiting to find the right spot to land on your shoulder or lapel.

I love the jewels of designer Jean Schlumberger! Greta Garbo, Liz Taylor and Jackie Onassis are just a few of the woman in history who also adored his jewelry. Best known for his tenure at and designs for Tiffany & Co., these are the V-rope clip earring that we've carried in the past. More sapphires - my favorite colored stone. Fabulous and very finely made, these lovely 18kt white gold earrings each contain 8 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing .22ct each (total diamond weight of .45ct) and a central round bright blue sapphire of .26ct each (total sapphire weight of .53ct). The diamonds are a very white G color, SI 1 clarity. They shine beautifully and would make a wonderful 21st birthday present, wedding day earrings or just everyday wear with a t-shirt and jeans. It all depends on your personal style but infinitely wearable in any case. Subtle and beautiful; don't you just love these?

Also known as a 'toi et moi' ring (meaning me and you), this style was very popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras representing the intertwining of two souls and has thus been given very often as an engagement ring. This unusual ring is made of platinum over 18kt (marked 750) gold on a gold shank, it contains one (1) bezel set old european cut diamond of approximately .50ct, G-H color, VS clarity and one (1) bezel set faceted bright sapphire measuring approximately 4.6mm in diameter by 3.2mm in depth. The shoulder contains an additional five (5) old european cut diamonds on each side of approximately .10ct for a total of .20ct. This ring is absolutely stunning and one of the prettiest ones I've seen.
