| Unusual shape in this beautiful girasol (opalescent, or opal glass) fingerbowl and underplate from 19th Century Venice. Both the bowl and the plate have puffed ribbing -- the bowl's beginning halfway down, continuing to the center base; and the plate's is at the base, rising around the curve. Diamond-patterned gold causes much glistening in both pieces. Both rims undulate slightly, and the underplate rim is folded for reinforcement. Both have sharp pontils. By Salviati Dott. Antonio, or Fratelli Toso. Coloring is enhanced against this dark background. Excellent condition. c. 1865-1895. $18 US Shipping. | ||||||||
