Antique Czech Porcelain Vanity Set Bird Transfers

Three-piece Porcelain Vanity Set, early 20th Century, from Czechoslovokia, mark of newly formed Porcelain Union, consisting of the manufacturers, Gottfired and Vielgut, W Tuma & O Vielgut Porcelain Factory, and the Julius Neuman factory. This is likely the earliest known mark of the Union factory.

The tray, marked only with an impressed number "101," measures l0.25" x 7.25", with transfer prints of exotic birds, and a border of tiny flowers. The candlesticks are 5" tall, about 3" diameter at the base, with base and top in a floral form, and a smaller version of the same bird transfer prints seen on the tray, as well as border flowers. All three pieces are in excellent, undamaged condition, with a small loss to the larger bird's tail on the tray print, and loss of most of the gilt around the rims. c. 1920. $20 US Shipping.
