Black lacquer, thick enamel, and genuine, raised mother of pearl round tray, with scene of two young females, one holding the ropes of a swing which is attached to the branch of an unseen tree, and the other holding a large mother of pearl fan. All outlining and detail in the tray are mother of pearl, and the costuming of the girls is thick enamel. The branches of the tree, at the top of the tray, are mother of pearl, with green enamel leaves. Tray measures 10" in diameter, 1" tall. Condition is very good, with age-confirming wear, one lacquer loss at 2 oclock on the rim, wear to the base, and other minor signs of use. The tray is unmarked, and could very well be older than we estimate. c. 1930. $14 US Shipping. |
