Hand scrollwork and handpainting. Style apppears to be on the order of Russian. Each frame has a velvet-covered wood liner which can be removed if desired. Sight area is about 7" x 10", sight with velvet liner removed is about 10.75" x 13.50", outside of frame is about 15.50" x 18.50".

These vintage frames have some easily repairable wear, primarily about 2 inches above the center side decoration, where it appears the pictures have been stored, one against the other, and some losses have occurred because of the rubbing of the metal for the hanging wires; minor losses in other areas, easily touched up with gilt, or black paint; plus minor loss to the velvet. These are not perfect, but with a little effort, they could be completely restored by anyone.

Although we are not promoting the prints (Rembrandt ?), we have left them intact in the frames as they are charming, and one might find them to their liking as is. Age and origin is unknown, although we suggest they are about 1950s. $18 US Shipping for one; $25 for two.
