Signed, "Made in France," partial import label remains. Three beautiful enameled bird scenes with grapes, berries, and flowers, encircle the lower portion of the box, while enameled insects and gilded flowers encircle the lid. Rim and acorn finial made of brass; exquisite French white opaline with translucent shades of pinks, yellows, and blues. Probably held a small cologne bottle. 4.75" (12.06 cm) high, 3.25" (8.25 cm) base diameter, 2.25" (5.71 cm) rim diameter. Excellent condition with normal wear only to the polished base, and minor oxidation to the brass; the enameling is all intact. c. 1910-1930. $16 US Shipping. |
