Six 19th C Salt Cellars Chinese Dragon Open Cloisonne
Six beautiful little SALT CELLARS, made in China late 19th, early 20th Century; unsigned, in openwork Cloisonne, meaning that the background is not filled in, allowing the gilded copper to show through. Each rests on three little feet, and has a flattened rim. The pattern is that of the 5-toed Dragon Chasing the Pearl, with tiny clouds interspersed, three black dragons, and three blue dragons. The base of each has a lovely flower -- three pink, and three white. About 1" tall, 1.50" diameter.

Condition is excellent with the exception of a black substance -- paint-like, which has been applied over the gilded surface and also sticks to the rim. We have partially cleaned one of them, but leave any additional cleaning decisions to the buyer. We can imagine how beautiful they will be with the gilt shining around the cloisons and the rim. $10 US Shipping. [purchase instantly via paypal at the order/inquire button]
