Rare Charger Brown Westhead Moore & Co Staffordshire
THIS IS AN ANTIQUE ITEM ... as such, it has wear from use and age, including all-over crazing, scattered losses to the hand-decoration (mostly those lighter areas seen primarily in the hair; see photos).

Rare and very special HAND-DECORATED TRANSFERWARE PRINT CHARGER by "T. C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co." and so-impressed on verso, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. An old note taped to the charger reads, in part, "...Westhead Moore & Co, c. 1858." The writer was at least close in date (if not entirely correct), as it is possible for the charger to have been created anywhere between 1858 and 1862 according to our research. It measures about 12-3/4" diameter, and 1-1/2" deep.

This piece is remarkably preserved completely without damage, and only the age and use issues mentioned above. It has obviously been loving protected, for the most part, for over 150 years. We are unable to find comparables on this item, and have likely priced the piece far too modestly, a bonus for the collector. (note: reds are always difficult to photograph, although we're close to the actual color on our computer) $28 US Shipping.
