Beautifully and intricately decorated in raised enamel, Famille Rose Cup, in Lowestoft style, exotic bird on tree stump surrounded by flowers and insects; note tiny insects in the upper border. A most lovely cup executed with an ultra fine brush and with much skill. Raised gilt accents much of the decoration including the inside rim and the foot as well as the outside decoration. Measures about 2-1/2" tall, 2-1/4" rim diameter, 1" base diameter. Excellent condition with only minor gilt losses, mostly to the rim. c. 1736-1795. $12 US Shipping. |
