A beautiful little piece that some people call a compote ... it may very well be a compote, and can certainly be used as such; however, we believe this is a display stand for some other piece, or pieces of this pattern. It may be used to display your smaller Baccarat rose tiente pieces, your other perfumes, or just about anything you'd like to place on it. And certainly you may use it for food items, although it won't hold very much. We've given you a couple of examples of how we suggest this piece be used -- your creativity and your own lovely items will take over from here! PLEASE NOTE ... that our camera has a terrible time capturing anything in the red fields. We have worked long and hard to try to show just the right tint of this piece, but still, it is not perfect. Please trust that this IS "rose-amberina tiente" by Baccarat! It is not signed, but it is unmistakably, Baccarat. Circa date is likely about 1910. Prior to 1936, Baccarat pieces were not signed, but identified with a label. In Baccarat's classic ribbed swirls, this piece measures about 1-5/8" tall, 5-3/4" diameter, and the depth of the "compote" or "platform" is about 1/2".
