Late 19th, early 20th Century FINE FRENCH ACID-ETCHED and ENAMELED HEXAGONAL, 6-sided, BISCUIT BARREL. Could be by any of the fine French glassmakers -- Daum, St Louis, Baccarat, Legras -- our vote is Legras or Daum -- but we leave determination of maker to the buyer. All-over acid-etched in alternating flower blossoms and concentric circles, and over-decorated with translucent enamels in cranberry, green, and metallic gold flowers and leaves; unmarked, and unmarked silver-plated mounts. SIZE: About 7-1/2" to top of finial, 10" to top of raised handle, 4" diameter round base, 5-1/2" diameter across hexagonal upper base, 4" diameter rim. CONDITION: Excellent with the most minor tiny scratches to the enamel at 2 o'clock, near the tips of the petals on the front flower; other minor anomalies inherent to original manufacture. PROVENANCE: Private collector estate. $18 US Shipping. |
