DESCRIPTION: Oval, 800 Italian Silver, PATCH or PILL BOX, engraved sides, edges, and clasp; handpainted nude woman and man in landscape scene, under beveled glass on the top, with a tortoiseshell base. The interior lid has gold wash, and is marked, twice, "Made in Italy," "800," within an oval, and with the National required Lozenge (with cut sides) denoting the silversmith's number = "102", the facist government's fasces (ancient Roman symbol of an axe bundled with birch sticks), and the initials "FI" for the Province of Firenze (Florence). The year dates for this last symbol is 1934-1944. A fine item for the collector.

CONDITON: Appears to be minor water damage to the small painting, tarnish to the metal, and wear to the base tortoiseshell.
