18th C Meissen Porcelain Tea Caddy Figural Finial

CONDITION: Quite good condition with chips to the tips of several of the outer layer of petals of the emerging flower finial; an age crack on the base about 1/4" long, extending up the end about 1/8"; some gilt losses; normal, expected manufacturing anomalies; priced accordingly.

A beautiful 18th Century MEISSEN PORCELAIN TEA CADDY with LID, FIGURAL FINIAL, dates to between 1763-1764. Both the base and the inside lid are marked in gilt with the letter, "N," perhaps for the gilder. There may be an extremely faint blue crossed swords on the base, worn away in over 200 years; however, there is no mistaking that this piece belongs to the same set as the other, underglaze marked pieces which we have listed.

Measures about 5" to top of finial, 2-7/8" wide at the shoulder, 1-7/8" deep; rim opening is about 1".

A rare, quintessential 18th Century Meissen piece for the collector. $20 US Shipping.
