18th Century Meissen Porcelain Teapot

CONDITION: minor gilt losses; small chip to underside inner rim of lid; chipping around 3 sides of end of spout; losses to all outer petals of the emerging flower bud finial. Priced accordingly.

Charming 18th Century porcelain MEISSEN TEAPOT, with "twig" handle and spout, emerging flower bud finial, floral decoration on all four sides, relief flowers and leaves at upper and lower handle and in three areas around the spout, relief leaf at finial; all hand painted.

Marked with crossed swords (one with a paint blip) and center dot at the handles, plus the letter "N" in gold, perhaps the mark of the gilder. The "N" also appears, in gilt, underside of the lid. Circa 1763-1773.

Measures about 6-1/4" handle-to-spout, 2-1/8" diameter at the rim, 5" diameter at the shoulder, 2-3/8" foot diameter, 4-1/4" tall to top of finial. $20 U.S. Shipping.

Please NOTE that we initially have more pieces in this pattern -- tea caddy, cups and saucers, bonbonnier, pitcher.
