Antique porcelain bowl by R. S. Prussia, from mold no. 94, page 50 of Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of R. S. Prussia. Measures about 10" diameter, 3" tall, white ground with varying shades of green background accent and leaves, pink roses alternating with seafoam green leaf clusters on side cartouches, pink and yellow flowers form the center decoration within the lower, 7-pointed cartouche. Most of the original gilt around the rim and cartouche edges has worn away, although enough remains to tell exactly where it had been placed -- gilt can be easily restored by a professional. The partially handpainted pattern shows a few scattered losses (some pictured), and the center well shows flatware marks from use, including one surface scrape in the pattern (pictured). We find no cracks and no crazing, although the foot has a small chip. c. 1880-1910. $18 US Shipping. This item may be purchased instantly at the Order/Inquire button. |
