This girl doll stand 6.5 inches high. Her costume is complete and in very good condition with the exception that the front of her tunic and pants are slightly sun faded when compared to the back. Her face is slightly darkened from exposure to the sun.

This silk brocade obi has soft muted colors woven into an overall geometric pattern. With brocaded designs running the full length of both sides, the Maru obi were favored by the elite of Japanese society. It is a rare obi which has the family mon (family crest) embroidered on it.
This Ethnic Minority is from the Chinese province of Yunnan. It was a typical costume worn by the woman of the Yi minority group. The fabric is cotton homespun with an applique embroidery decoration bordering the sleeve hems. An added geometric tiny cross stitch embroidery pattern highlights the hem of the garment. Addition This garment is entirely hand stitched.
From Ibaden, Nigeria this traditional Yoruba cloth was woven by the men of the village. It was worn tied around the waist of the woman, and used as a baby carrier. This piece was brought back from Aftica in 1961.
Hand loomed of cotton fibers, it has a wonderful soft color and texture. It measures 10" wide and 68" long including fringe.

This leather flint pouch has elaborate silver fittings. The turquoise and coral stones are also set in silver ornaments.
On one side, the original "rivet" is missing and the leather pouch has been "wired" to the frame. This "repair" is obviously old and adds some charm to the piece. 4"x6"

According to Chinese tradition, the RuYi represanted authority, power and good fortune. This elaborately carved antique Chinese Ru Yi is covered with symbolic carvings and is patinated with years touch. On the lotus blossum shape of this Ruyi the carved central medalion (symbol for good fortune) is flanked by a bat on each side, while above and below are dragon heads, one above and 2 below. The blossum head is bordered with traditional Chinese keyed design symbolizing long life...
The making of beautiful ink cakes was considered an artform and the cakes were appreciated and collected by the Chinese as one of the "Four Treasures". This antique Chinese inkcake in its original box measures approx 18" x 5". It is detailed on top, sides and bottom and in very good condition.
A must have for any lotus shoe collector. This iron was used for pressing lotus shoes. The thin curved end was useful for getting into the toe area.
Made of iron, it is somewhat rusty-i.e. pleasantly aged.

This child's headpiece was from a very high status, wealthy Chinese family. Basically made of 3 pieces of shaped and intricately carved leather, it was made "adjustable". Heavily decorated with additional carved elements, dragons, beads and pompoms, it still has most of the original gold paint. This is a rare treasure. approx 6" x 3.5"
