This Miao minority child's hat is has a red wool background fabric which is both padded and quilted for warmth. The surface has appliqued fabric with both satin and chain stitched embroideries. The silver ornament at the rear has the "butterfly mother" and 3 bells to keep the child safe from evil spirits.
