Aesthetic Meriden Silver Bowl Twig & Leaf Base, c. 1880s. Meriden Brittania Co. This rare oval bowl has an asymetrical elevation. The bowl rests on a base of twigs and leaves. The bowl consists of vertical hammered and embossed panels with different patterns of strong Japanesque influences. The interior was gilded but it is now a little worn. The original finish was French Gray, a matte silverplating. Condition: Overall good - minor scratches and there is some silver loss...

The vase is a slightly flattened oval shape and is 6.75" tall x 3.75" wide and 7" long from handle to handle.
