This time it is part of a Japanese influenced design, with asymmetrically placed flowers against a cracked ice background. The tile is 8 inches square and was made c. 1890. It has a dark brown transfer placed on the white clay background.

HEMIXEM ART NOUVEAU WISTERIA BLOSSOMS TILE. The Wisteria blossoms with their shades of mauve and purple are among the most beautiful of the spring flowers. In this example, the purple blossoms gently curve against the stark white background, anchored by the gray brow vines.
