Copeland first introduced this pattern, D9875, PATTERN, in the 1870s. This colorful transferware design features palm or bamboo trees on a small island, with cranes or herons with fish in their beaks. A butterfly hovers near the rim. This Aesthetic Movement was typical prior to the development of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

English Art Nouveau Tulip Tile, Green & White
This unusual artist designed transferware has an overall design of green, in light to dark shades on a white background. The tulip design is flowing and crisp on the white background. The tile is 6" square. It appears to be in excellent condition and is protectively housed in a contrasting Australian dark wood frame (mahogany?) so that the tile is part of a trivet. The maker of this tile is unknown.

This eight inch square tile has a superb design, with highly stylized geometric flowers It is a study of brown and white, with a bold design, placing the vase of flowers against a dramatic dark brown circular background. The surrounding area includes geometricized patterns. This rare tile was probably made c. 1880. The tile is in excellent condition without chips, cracks or even edge nibbles!

Here is a beautifully hand painted polychrome Aesthetic transferware desing in the HONG KONG pattern. It is an Oriental influenced design with tropical plants and flying birds, very much in the Chinoiserie tradition. The bowl is in excellent condition. It is approx. 11” long, 7 incheswide and approx. 2 inches deep. The condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
