WEDGWOOD AESTHETIC COBALT BLUE WATER LILLY PLATE (A) (B

TWO WEDGWOOD AESTHETIC COBALT BLUE WATER LILLY PLATES The Wedgwood WATER LILLY Pattern, with its showy flowers and lily pads, was first introduced in the early 19th century, and was produced in many color ways over time. This spectacular set of 8 plates has a rich cobalt blue transfer design of water lilies, which are botanically correct but aesthetically designed, as well as gilded highlights. The plate is 10 3/8" in diameter. The plates are in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. The gilding has light wear, mostly on the rim, but this does not detract from the spectacular visual impact. Markings on the back include an impressed WEDGWOOD mark, as well as printed Wedgwood and a seated unicorn mark. The body of the plate is very white and smooth, so I believe it is a porcelain or semi-porcelain. Two plates are listed, but there are eight plates in all. Please contact me for more information.
