This large superbly lacquered square box with wide feet, is decorated with a phoenix bird along with a smaller bird possibly a small bird of paradise, with a flowering shrub, along with butterflies and a floral and scrolled detail in each corner. The sides are decorated with four different floral designs. Inside is twelve small rectangular plates.

The Chinese finely carved rectangular box with a raised top panel with a landscape with a large tree and mountains, a Buddhist figure seated under the tree with an attendant standing nearby, repeating fret pattern surrounding the panels. The sides are carved with four rows of repeating Buddhist Swastikas. Condition: the top lid has two small chips, and the box has one little larger chip, the rim of the box has numerous chips.

Size: 2” high x 5-1/2” wide x 3-5/8

This finely carved red lacquer over metal box with a low round body with a scalloped lid with a short round finial of a flower with overlapping petals and surrounding it is four panels each with a leaf or tree motif surrounded with scrolled detail, body has intricately detailed scenes of figures in a landscape setting with mountains and large pine tree and another leafy tree along with tall Taihu rocks sculptures, and pagoda buildings. The base has China Impressed in the lacquer. Circa 1890-1930 - Size: 3-1/4 high x 5-1/2” diameter (8.25 x 13.97 cm)
