The Yixing ovoid body teapot painted with dramatic actors in full costume, and one is holding a spear, and on the reverse side is a bird perched on flowering prunus branch. The spout has a floral decoration. The circular inset lid with a peach motif a symbol of “longevity” on either side of the peach is impressed gourd shape marks. There are metal double loop handles. There is an elaborate signature on the base along with a red wax seal mark.

The Yixing teapot is of a square form with curved corners which create the raised feet for the base, it is decorated with painted dark-blue medallion with a bold white leaves that are surrounded with a floral and leaf motif. The shoulder is decorated with light green stylized bats. This magnificent female musician is kneeling, holding cymbals, one in each hand, her hair is in large elaborate twisted round buns on each side of her head, her draped pleated robe with a large collar that covers her shoulders, in is belted in the back. Remaining traces of orange and black pigment. This item is from the estate of a 90-year-old physician who had traveled to China in 1948 visiting his brother.
