Burmese/Thai Rosewood display cabinet with an open top section with carved fret design apron, it has antique double doors that were converted into the two lower doors, with finely carved scenes of Yi Emperor who united China, depicting warriors in a mountainous landscape setting, made in Hong Kong. Calligraphy inscription on the inside of the door panels, right door inside panel – is a prologue to a poem composed by Chi Chang a famous poet from the Tang Dynasty. “The moon is downing and a frost is permeating the air all around. The Crows begin to stir on those trees alongside the river. Only a few dots of light on the fishing boats moving quietly (on the river)All seems to be forlorn and sad. Then the gentle chimes from the bell of Haushau Temple are heard it heralds the arrival of the ferry boat". Provenance: Private Estate for Fifty years. This beautiful two-section rosewood curio cabinet made from Burmese/Thai Rosewood with six curio display areas, with glass double doors and brass hardware and locks. Two drawers at the lower section with carved long life finger pulls, made in Hong Kong in the 1960’s. It is in excellent condition. Provenance: Private Estate for Fifty years. Beautiful vintage book case made from Burmese/Thai rosewood, is of a rectangular form, with five shelves and a footed base. In excellent condition; it was made in Hong Kong in the 1960’s. Exceptional vintage dining table in the Ming style is made of Burmese/Thai rosewood with a beautiful burl inset table top with an exquisite grain pattern, rectangular form with horse hoof feet, included are two 16” extensions, six side chairs and two arm chairs. Six rectangular high back side chairs and two arm chairs with beautifully curved arms and back splats with a carved Shou “longevity” symbol, each chair has a Thai-silk box cushion. It was made in Hong Kong in the 1960’s. In excellent condition. Provenance: Private Estate for Fifty years. Age: 1960’s - Size: 29 ½” high x 96” long x 39 ¾” wide x 96” long. (74.9 x 101 x 243.8 cm).

This table is well constructed as well as the chairs. The chairs are heavy which is a good sign. The wood is absolutely beautiful and it would be very expensive to make a table like this today. As the wood is extinct. A burl table top of this size and quality is no longer available and won't be for 50-100 years.
