The beautifully carved jade vase with two stylized dragons clutching the “flaming Pearl” on top of the lid and their tails curve and create an opening with loose rings. The body is also finely carved with clouds and dragons on the front and backsides with a loose ring on each side. It was mounted in the 1950’s - 60’s. This exquisite silver filigree vermeil with a gold wash is so finely designed and the workmanship is superb. It is inset with beautiful carved translucent green jadeite (moss in snow) oval pieces with the Shou (happiness) calligraphy symbol on either side, with a curved scrolled border. This is one of the more spectacular vases by Daum, and it is from the same private collection as the Galle vase. The vibrant fall foliage is exquisitely painted throughout in this splendid landscape scene and the variations of hues used are superb. It is signed in enamel Daum Nancy and with the cross for Lorraine, circa 1910. Size: 2-3/4” (6.98 cm) high. It is in excellent condition.
