AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TERRACOTTA FUNERARY CONE
A New Kingdom, fired clay cone with the circular face bearing stamped inscription, reading "The venerated one in the presence of Osiris, the king’s scribe Huy of Hut-heret-ib, true of voice. (Hut-heret-ib was a city in the 10th nome of Lower Egypt, near Athribis), 18th Dynasty, 1570-1293 B.C. Face measures 3 inches diameter, 7 3/4 inches long. Intact. From a Swiss private collection, 1960s-1970s.
