| Blue conical-shaped amulet with suspension loop on top. Late Period, 600-400 B.C. 1 inch tall. Intact with intact suspension loop. From an old New Jersey private collection. Also known as ‘Wadj’ or ‘Uadj’, an amulet of ancient Egypt, believed to impart strength, abundance and virility to the wearer. Funerary texts dictate that the placement of the papyrus scepter was on the neck and its function was to ensure continued life and fertility after death. | ||
