This little French girl is SFBJ 60 Paris. She has perfect bisque. She is fully dressed in her all original Folklore costume and even retains her original store hangtag. She is on her original 5-piece body. Here are the details:
Head: Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. She has stationary brown eyes and an open mouth with teeth. Her original mohair wig has a braid that encircles her head. She is marked, 2 / SFBJ / 60 / Paris / 8/0. Factory Imperfections: a slight under-pouring at the rim, typical of SFBJ production, and a few scattered speckles. Signs of wear: None.
Body: Her original body is a simply made 5-piece composition body. She is peg strung with the original stringing. Since her clothes have never been removed I am not able to fully examine her body. On the other hand, since the clothes have not been removed we know there cannot be any repairs or repainting under her clothes. The body has aging and wear to the paint, and one leg poses away from the body more than the other – this is just the way she is made.
Clothes: She is fully dressed in her complete original costume. Her original hangtag states on one side, The Geo. Worthington Co., Cleveland, Ohio, Over a Century of Service, and on the other side, Alsace Lorraine. She wears a sheer blouse with lace trim, a black velvet vest with gold trim, a cotton shawl with silk fringe, a black cotton apron with embroidered trim, a red cotton skirt, gauzy slip and matching one-piece combination, long wool stockings, black leather slip-on shoes, and her big black bonnet. Whew! These clothes are all sewn together, and the shoes and stockings are nailed on. Everything is in excellent aged condition.
