This is a large and glorious example of Simon and Halbig's Edwardian lady, mold #1159. She has perfect bisque, and her original lady body is in superb condition. Except for her antique hat, she is absolutely ALL ORIGINAL, including LAYERS of clothing, mohair wig, socks, and shoes. What a splendid example of this popular lady! Layaway is always an option. Please contact me to discuss terms. Here are the details:
Head: Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips, or hairlines. She has stationary blue glass eyes, and an open mouth with four upper teeth. She has painted lower lashes and real hair upper lashes. Her ears are pierced and she is wearing her original drop earrings. Her original blond mohair wig is in excellent condition, pulled back into a bun with wispy curls around the edges. She also has a little hair ornament. She is marked: S&H / DEP / 1159 / Germany / 10. She also has the red Wimpern stamp, indicating real hair lashes. Signs of Wear: the tiniest pinpoint wig pull. Factory Imperfections: None noted.
Body: She has a slender and shapely composition lady body. Her dress is fragile, and I have decided to leave it in place. I have examined as much of her body as possible without totally undressing her, and it appears to be in superb unplayed condition – very fine. I did not find a mark on the body. Her arms pose well and she stands well in her doll stand, although her head is loose and wobbly. Since she can pose well, I do not wish to disturb or damage her clothing, so I will leave this as found.
Clothes: Except for her antique hat, she is absolutely all original. She wears a two-piece silk dress with tiny flowered print, black-edged ruching, and a slight train. There is melting on the front of the dress, while the back and sides are in very good condition. The dress is fully lined in a coordinating color. The piece that you see sticking out from the side of the skirt is not damage, it is a long matching ribbon bow in the back. Underneath she has layers of unders! There is a three piece matching set – camisole, long half-slip, and bloomers. The slip and bloomers have a wide ruffle, and all three are trimmed in matching inserted ribbon. She has a knee-length winter slip of cream wool with feather-stitching. She even owns a nice long corset! These pieces all fit with perfection, are all in excellent aged condition, and may have never been removed. She has brown silk stockings and brown leather two-strap shoes. She must have done a lot of dancing because her shoes are quite worn. Finally, she wears a charming antique hat with wired brim. It is edged in black straw in a fancy woven design and also has a row of beading. The top is covered with black silk ribbon, which is worn and partly missing. The hat suits her perfectly and really looks nice on display.
