This Tete Jumeau Bebe has a great face! She has very beautiful bisque with dramatic painting, her original marked body, and a very attractive silk and lace costume. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me first to discuss terms prior to purchase. Here are the details:
Head: Her face is dominated by her large dark brown eyes with deep threading. Her face painting is very dramatic – more so than she appears in my photos - her eyebrows are very dark and her lips are a lush deep red with accenting and a white space. She is marked with the usual red stamp, an assortment of artist checkmarks, and her size number - 11. Her antique human hair wig is tosca-colored. She has small braids across the top and shoulder-length curls. Examination: a nick at one earring hole, and teensy light wig pulls on her forehead – these are so shallow that you cannot feel them when you rub your finger across her forehead.
Body: Her original Jumeau body is stamped in blue on the back. The lower arms and hands may have a light old repaint – the paint does not fluoresce under a black light, but the finish has a slightly different feel and she has red fingernail outlines. One wrist is definitely repainted inside the joint. The remainder of the body is original finish with normal age wear.
Clothes: She is wearing a very attractive silk brocade costume that someone lovingly made for her. It is two pieces – a sleeveless dress and a highly detailed jacket with lace trimming. She has a matching bonnet. Underneath, she wears a cotton half-slip and bloomers, and I am not sure if they are antique or made from old fabrics. She also wears cream-colored stocking and antique brown leather side-button boots with heels. They have been much mended with two replaced buttons and one missing.
