This pretty size 11 French Bebe is marked DEP. These open-mouth DEP heads were made by Simon and Halbig and imported by SFBJ for their Jumeau line, between 1899 and 1913. This doll has perfect bisque and her original French body. She is wearing her original Jumeau-style flowered chemise dress of the period and her shoes and Jumeau-style stockings are likely original as well. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me prior to purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:

Head: Her bisque head is perfect with no cracks, chips or hairlines. The bisque is very nice quality with no rubs or imperfections to her lovely face. She has blue sleep eyes and an open mouth with teeth. Her eyes are in the original set and sleep well. They were not set as tightly into the sockets as they could be, so on display I keep a little tissue paper in her head to push them slightly forward. She has the remains of her original eye lashes. She wears an antique human hair wig that certainly fits as if it is hers. She is marked DEP and her size number 11. Factory Imperfections: a common firing flaw behind one ear and a tiny factory chip on the inner rim (very minor and NOT damage). Signs of Wear: Slight wear around the earring holes.

Body: Her original French body is typical of the period, fully jointed of composition and wood. Paint flaking is typical on these later French bodies, but the only flaking is seen on the hands. One hand has some flaking and the other hand has touchup paint over the flaking. The remainder of the body is in excellent original finish with only minor expected age wear.

Clothes: She is wearing her original Jumeau-style chemise dress with the flowered print. You can see where the label was attached at the waist but it is gone now. The dress has age related wear - some splits in the fabric on the back of the sleeves and another on the skirt (mended). These do not show on display, and it looks really nice. Underneath she wears a half-slip and bloomers. These each close with drawstrings. She has brown tie shoes marked 11 and Jumeau-style knit stockings. Someone has added a cream-colored bonnet with lace trim and fringe around the neckline.
