This is very lovely doll that is not often found – she is incised Eleonore. Overall condition of her head and body is VERY FINE. This doll has obviously been cherished. She is fully dressed including her charming red print antique dress. Her bisque head was made by Simon and Halbig for Bergmann, and the doll was distributed by Louis Wolfe. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me before purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:
Head: This is a SUPERIOR bisque head. There are no cracks, chips or hairlines - no factory imperfections and no signs of wear – mint and flawless. She has blue sleep eyes and all eyelid wax is present. She has an open mouth with perfect teeth. Her painting is neat and perfect with wispy brows and accented lips. She wears a strawberry blond human hair wig with long sausage curls. She is marked: CMB / Simon & Halbig / Eleonore.
Body: Her original body is in IMMACULATE condition with no signs of repair or repaint and almost no wear at all.
Clothes: She is wearing a very nice antique dress with a print bodice and solid skirt. It closes in back with buttons and hand-made button holes. It has been altered at the waist and there is a small hole on the back of one sleeve. Underneath, she wears a fine antique half-slip with tucks, insertion lace and fancy lace edging. Her bloomers are linen and could be made of antique fabrics. She wears long cotton stockings and vintage side button leather boots, missing one toe buckle.
