This petite 12" lady makes a stunning presentation! She has perfect bisque, early cobalt glass eyes, a clean and sturdy French kid body, and an outstanding layered costume. She has it all! She is an earlier lady, circa 1870. All clues point to manufacture by Jumeau. Layaway is always an option, but please contact me prior to purchase to discuss terms. Here are the details:

Head: She has a perfect bisque head and shoulderplate. She is an earlier model, circa 1870, with beautiful cobalt glass eyes, narrow striated brows and pale lips with dark accents. Her ears are not pierced and she has no markings. She has a cork pate and a dome-shaped wooden neck button. Her dark blond mohair wig is likely original, pulled back into long curls, and decorated with flowers, greenery and a bow that matches her dress. Factory Imperfections: a tiny black mark behind one ear. Signs of Wear: None – great!

Body: Her original white kid body is gusseted at the hips and elbows. It is the Jumeau-style body with the V-shaped waist stitching. I cannot remove her jacket, but I have examined the rest of her body. There is a tiny round patch on each arm, otherwise the condition is excellent – very clean and sturdy.

Clothes: Her marvelous aged costume is obviously the work of a professional – very intricate and detailed. Her amazing two piece gown has an over-skirt attached to the bodice. Her skirt has two large applied ruffles and a huge flowing train. Both pieces are generously trimmed with lace and ribbon bows, and they close with hooks and eyes. It looks entirely cream-colored in my photos, but there are pale violet stripes in the fabric. Underneath she wears two slips with trains, a chemise and bloomers. These all fit perfectly and close with a single button. Her first slip matches her skirt in size, shape and large ruffle. Her second slip has a smaller train. Her chemise and bloomers are a matched set. She also wears fancy knit stockings and lovely antique side button boots. Everything is in excellent aged condition, with just some normal color fading and occasional wear to the ribbon trims.
